Terms of service

These terms apply when you use Unitwise at heathhallstore.shop. They are written to be read. Where a term would take away a right the law gives you as a consumer, it does not apply — nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

In effect from 2026-09-09

1. Who you are contracting with

Unitwise is a trading name of the company whose registered particulars appear on the legal information page. In these terms “we”, “us” and “our” mean that company, and “you” means the person using the service.

2. What the service is

Unitwise converts the prices of different pack sizes of the same product to a common unit and shows the arithmetic that produces each figure. It can read a price, a net quantity, a unit and promotional wording from a photograph of a shelf label, and it can convert a promotional price back into a unit price.

This is arithmetic, not shopping advice. A lower unit price does not mean better value. The largest pack is usually the lowest per unit, and that only holds if it gets used; a lower unit price on something half of which is thrown away is not cheaper. The service says so beside every result. Your actual consumption, your storage, and whether you will finish something are all unknown to it.

The service provides no food-safety information whatsoever. It makes no judgement about shelf life, edibility or spoilage, it gives no storage-safety advice, and it provides no nutritional, calorie or health content. Questions of that kind are a matter for the product label and your own judgement, or for a relevant professional. When such a question is detected the service stops rather than converting anything.

The service evaluates no retailer. Shelf labels use different units for ordinary reasons; the service only places them on a common scale. It makes no judgement as to whether any label complies with unit-pricing rules or is misleading. Store names and store branding in uploaded photographs are redacted before storage.

Features may change. Where a change materially reduces what a paid plan does, we will tell registered users at least 14 days before it takes effect, and you may cancel.

3. Your account

  • You must be 13 or older. If you are 13 to 17 you need a parent or guardian’s consent, and billing requires an adult.
  • Keep your sign-in details to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has them.
  • One account per person. Accounts are not to be shared or resold.

4. Acceptable use

The acceptable use policy forms part of these terms. In particular, and because of what this service is:

  • You must not use output from this service in a complaint about a retailer, or in a public accusation against a retailer, or to suggest that any shop has priced or labelled anything improperly.
  • You must not upload photographs containing identifiable people.
  • You must not present output from this service as food-safety, nutritional, health, medical, legal or financial advice, or use it in any high-risk setting.

5. Subscriptions, credits and price

  • Plans are Free at $0, Aisle at $5 a month or $48 a year, and Trolley at $15 a month or $144 a year. All prices are in USD and include VAT at 20%.
  • Paid subscriptions renew automatically for the same period until you cancel.
  • Credits are a service usage allowance. They are not money, not stored value, not redeemable for cash and not transferable. Your allowance resets each billing period and does not roll over.
  • There are no credit top-up packs and no stored balance. If you run out before the reset, you can move up a plan or wait.
  • Before you pay you are shown the amount, the billing period, the date of the next charge and how to cancel, on a screen of its own. Nothing is pre-ticked.
  • Before each renewal we send a reminder as its own email, never inside a marketing message, repeating the amount, the date and how to cancel.
  • Cancelling takes two clicks from your billing page. It never requires a telephone call or an email to us.

The requirements in the last three points, and the fresh 14-day cancellation period after each renewal described on the cancellation page, reflect Part 4 Chapter 2 of the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024. Those provisions are not yet in force — they are expected in spring 2027 — and we have chosen to implement them early.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Your rights under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, how they can come to an end, and how refunds work are set out in full on the cancellation and refunds page, which forms part of these terms and includes the statutory cancellation form.

7. Your statutory rights

Under Part 1 Chapter 3 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, digital content supplied to a consumer must be of satisfactory quality, fit for any particular purpose you made known to us, and as described. If it is not, you are entitled to have it repaired or replaced and, where that is not possible or is not done within a reasonable time, to a price reduction. Section 47 of that Act means these rights cannot be excluded or limited by a term of a contract, and nothing here attempts to.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

8. What we can and cannot promise about the output

Reading figures from a photograph is a best effort and can be wrong. That is why every conversion is calculated in your browser and printed with its arithmetic: you can check each figure against the label in front of you before you act on it, and correct any value by hand.

We keep the service available and working, and we fix faults. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, and we do not promise it can read every label. Where a figure it has read is wrong, tell us at support@heathhallstore.shop. None of this reduces the rights described in section 7.

9. Content and intellectual property

  • We own the service, the Unitwise name and the technology behind it.
  • You keep ownership of the photographs and figures you put in.
  • You give us permission to host, store and process what you upload so that we can run the service for you. That permission ends when you delete the material, apart from operational backups which are cleared within 30 days.
  • What you upload is not used to train any model, ours or a third party’s.
  • The comparison cards and conversions produced for you are yours to use, subject to section 4.

10. Suspension and ending the agreement

You can close your account at any time from your billing page. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the acceptable use policy; where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we close a paid account for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused part of the period you have paid for.

11. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses.

We do not exclude or limit our responsibility where it would be unlawful to do so. That includes responsibility for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, and for any of the rights described in section 7.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Scotland. You and we agree to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.

Nothing in this clause removes any right you have to bring proceedings in the country where you live, or to rely on the mandatory consumer-protection rules of that country.

13. Time limits

Under the Prescription and Limitation (Scotland) Act 1973, a claim arising from these terms must generally be brought within five years. In England and Wales the equivalent period is six years.

This is the period in which you can bring a claim. It is not a warranty period, and it is not a limit on how long we are responsible for the service.

14. If something goes wrong

Please contact us first at support@heathhallstore.shop. We are not signed up to any alternative dispute resolution scheme, so if a complaint cannot be settled between us the route is the courts.

If you live in Scotland and your claim is for £5,000 or less, you may be able to use Simple Procedure in the Sheriff Court. It is designed to be used without a solicitor.

If you live in Scotland, free consumer advice is available from Advice Direct Scotland at consumeradvice.scot, funded by the Scottish Government. That service is available to residents of Scotland only. If you live outside Scotland, contact the consumer advice body in your own country; wherever you live, the mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence continue to apply. Enforcement in Scotland is a matter for Trading Standards Scotland.

15. Changes to these terms

We will give registered users at least 14 days’ notice by email before a material change takes effect. If you do not want to accept it you can cancel before it starts, and we will refund the unused part of the period you have paid for.
